Artist's Description

The Christ Crossing. Veronica holds the cloth for the face of Christ, left Johannes and Mary, in the foreground the two murderers. Roman soldiers are on horseback in front of the procession. Sketch for the large painting made for the Abbey of Afflighem, now in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels.
