Description
Paris Lyon Mediteranee Rail Line Circa 1922. In an effort to promote tourism, the PLM rail line commissioned Parisian born illustrator Roger Broders to create travel posters from 1922 to 1932. From the ritzy beach hamlets of the Cote d'Azur, to the cozy ski villages of the French Alps, Broders captured the essence of the landscape with his distinctive style of simple lines and bold color. This particular piece beckons holiday-goers to indulge in the glitz and decadence of Monte-Carlo, rendered from the perspective of a hilltop villa. Posters by Broders have become highly sought after, as they not only evoke an air of nostalgia, but continue to spark a sense of wanderlust even today.
